Our Promise
Through R.E.S.P.E.C.T. for “Our Planet. Our Promise”, we are committed to protecting the environment through responsible business practices, innovative solutions, and a promise to purchase, produce and distribute seafood that is harvested or farm-raised in a sustainable manner.
On our journey toward 100% sustainability, High Liner has already made considerable progress.
Working with the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) certififying to Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP’s), we have already been able to certify a number of species of fish and seafood as sustainable. We will continue to work with our suppliers and partners to ensure these numbers keep growing, helping to improve those fisheries that are not yet certified sustainable along the way.
We have been working with the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP) to identify Fisheries Improvement Projects (FIPs). Already, we are working on a project with SFP in the Russian Pollock fishery. To learn more about our partners, click here.
As R.E.S.P.E.C.T. for Our Planet means instituting sustainability initiatives throughout our operations, we continuously seek out opportunities to improve our processing and distribution systems. To learn more about our improvements, click here.
